Are You Prepared?

My dear Children,

I just received a call from our friends Paul and Jean Stankevich up in Armstrong Creek Wisconsin. You have heard me speak of them in the past. Pauline and I always stop on our way out to Wisconsin. They have a couple hundred acre farm up in the north woods. Paul called to tell me a tornado came by their house and took the barn, the garage and chicken coop. It happened about eight at night and they were in the house and they heard something funny so they went into the stairwell and it was past in seconds. Jean looked out the back window and the barn was gone, Paul looked out the kitchen and the garage was gone. The barn, house and garage are all very close together; their car was parked between the barn and house and only got a few scratches, the house was not touched.

Paul’s aunt Stella lives about a quarter mile away. She was in her kitchen and heard the cap fall of the chimney, when they looked out the window their barn was gone and the garage damaged. God was certainly watching over these people.

I am sharing this because changes can happen very quickly. In just a few moments a big change came in their lives.  Can it happen to you and I?  Of course it can.  The question is, how well equipped are we to handle whatever big change comes our way?

Several nations in the world are facing big changes right now.  Some of them were better prepared then others. The ruling party in Egypt was not very well prepared. The Japanese had prepared and thought they were well prepared but it was not enough.

My dear children we can be prepared for whatever happens if we take advantage of it. We are more then just a physical body.  We have a soul and a spirit.  When your body dies your soul and spirit still live.  Don’t think for a moment that when your body dies you are finished; you are not! This means that all these people that died in Egypt and Japan and other parts of the world are still alive. I wonder if they were ready for this or if they were taken totally by surprise when their soul and spirit left the body and they found themselves still alive and aware.

I remember as a young man that I had come to the conclusion there was more to life than the few years that I would be on this earth in this body. I still believe there are a lot of surprises before us and the few years we spend in this body are nothing compared to the eternity that is before us. Don’t be short-sighted and think only of the now but invest in your spiritual future as well. Changes are going to come to all of us, be as well prepared as you can for this short life. Be as well prepared as you can for the future life.

I know that we can be prepared for this spiritual life. I encourage every one of you to ask God to help you be prepared; to read the bible and learn of Jesus who has already prepared a way for you if you will take advantage of it. There is going to be a big change for every one of us.

My dear family this is of the utmost importance.

All my love and prayers,

Dad
