Act Or React! (2010 Fall Newsletter)

By Ralph Nault

We live in a time when some people are trained to cause other people to react.  Business people use this method so that we will buy their product and not buy the competitor’s product.

All of us have learned to use reacton from a very early age.  We didn’t know that we were using that tool to get our way with our parents but we were.  Watch some of the TV shows and see the violence that it brings forth in people.

Reaction often brings forth violence.  I am sure that all of you have experienced this in your own life at some time.  You reacted to something and then said or did something that was violent.

A politician will prepare a message ahead of time that will stir you up and make you angry to serve their purpose.  They want you to react against somebody or something.  If you do, then they have accomplished their purpose.

The Christian church is under attack!  Is this something new?  Or has it been under attack from its beginning?  The Christian church has been under attack from its beginning, and it is still growing.  Don’t react but be an active Christian.

Being an active Christian is more then joining a church, giving some money to that church, and saying my prayers every night and morning. There is nothing wrong with that and this should be a part of our Christian experience.

Being an active Christian means we should be affecting the world around us.  We should be bringing forth a message of good news.  We should be bringing comfort, healing and deliverance to a troubled world.

We live in a very troubled time.  Our nation and all the things we believe in are under attack.  One of our early presidents made the statement that if we were ever defeated it would be from within.  That is happening now!  We are being defeated by the very people we voted into office.  Many of our freedoms have been taken away.  Our nation is no longer the same as it was in the 1900s. Our leaders are not accountable anymore to the people they represent.

Many people have lost their trust in the Government, in our banking system, and in our church institutions.  We don’t really know who we can trust anymore.

God is involved in all of this.  He does not want us to put our trust in government, banks or institutions.  He wants us to put our trust in Him!  For too long we have put our trust in governments, banks and institutions and it is now time to put our trust in God, in the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

It is easy to get angry and violent and react.   Is this what we should do?

No!  What should we do?

Repent!  Stop looking to the world as our provider and look to Him who will meet all of our needs.  Come out of our church building and bring His power into the world.  Fulfill the great commission.  It is easy to use our church as a hiding place.

Ask God to forgive us for not trusting Him.  Pray and go out into the world with God’s power and message of good news.

We have turned away from God and He has turned away from us.  Pagans are taking over our land and Government and God is allowing it to happen.  God has not given us wise counselors, in our government, in our schools or our churches.  He has allowed deceiving spirits to take their place and deceive our leaders.Act!  Don’t react!  Place your trust in God and pray that He will restore and bless our land once again.
