Lord, I Want it All
Nov. 2001

by Ralph Nault

What do you want from God?

We should learn something from our children. They are so much freer then we are. Long before Christmas they will make you aware of what they want. They want to be sure that you know what they want. I would say that most of them are insistent. They don't give up easy.

I wonder if there are things that you would like from God but you don't ask Him for it because you think that might be selfishness or you think He is to busy and you don't want to bother Him. You might think, I don't deserve it anyhow.

Do you give your children Christmas gifts because they deserve them or because you love them and want to bless them?

A few months ago Pauline read a book The Prayer of Jabez. He prayed "Oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! So God granted him what he reguested. (1 Chronicles 4:10)

When Pauline shared with me about this prayer it reminded me of the way I have prayed many time the last thirty-three years, different words but the same meaning. I prayed, "Lord I want everything you have for me!" I still pray that way now.

When the Lord called me into this work, I knew something about myself. I had nothing to offer anybody. I was bankrupt! I was a failure! In spite of my condition the Lord called me into this work. Maybe He called me to this work because of my condition? He knew I had nothing to rely on but Him. I knew that if I was to be able to help anybody It had to come from Him.

Some might think that is a selfish way to pray. I believe that God has a lot for every one of us, and can handle that with out any problem what so ever. I know that the Lord has blessed all of you in many ways.

Does He still have some more for you?

I don't believe there is a one of you that have received all that God has for you here and now!

Do I need all that God has for me? Yes!

So many of us fall short when it comes to helping or giving to our family and to others simply because we have not received enough of what God has for us. The more we receive from God the more we have to give. Lord I want all you have for me so that I will have a lot to give away.

We may be able to give a lot of gifts and still not give what is truly needed. The things that our Father in heaven gives us can all be given away and you never lack in the giving because He keeps giving it back to us.

I encourage all of you to pray, "Lord I want all you have for me, bless me indeed!"

The more you receive from Him the more you have to give. Be insistent, make sure you tell your Father in heaven everything you want. Come as a little child to His throne.

"Lord I want all that you have for me! Bless me indeed!"

Then! You! Will have a lot to give away and not be lacking in any good thing.
